Are you trying to learn Spanish?
Don't worry. You're not alone. Around the world, thousands of English-speaking adults are in the same boat. Folks that are memorising Spanish verb conjugation tables -- just like you. Folks that are searching for effective tools to improve their overall learning experience and results -- alright, you get the picture!
When you first begin learning the Spanish language, it's important to always remember that you can't absorb an entire new language all at once. Think about it: how many years of your life did it take to learn English? Maintaining patience throughout your learning process will pay real dividends over time.
With that in mind, an effective way to avoid too much frustration with a new language is to keep your study methods as easy and as interesting as possible. Here's an example: get a stack of blank flash cards, and write down a different English noun that interests you on one side of each flash card. Don't even think about Spanish while you're building your stack of flash cards. Just think about nouns that you're interested in. Building a stack of noun flash cards can be done at your pace, and you can add nouns to the stack just about anywhere (at the office, in front of the TV, on vacation, etc.).
Once every flash card in your stack has an English noun, use your study materials to match each noun with its Spanish noun counterpart on the flip side of the card. If the Spanish equivalent uses different types of definite articles in front of its nouns, include those with their nouns as you go. As your stack grows, it equips you with a unique practice tool that matters to you.
So how do you go about learning how to pronounce all of those interesting Spanish nouns? One interesting strategy involves searching for internet videos that feature your noun being discussed by people that speak Spanish. Listening to a native frequently repeating your noun will help you understand how it's supposed to sound in conversational settings.
Once you've both written down and heard your flash card nouns in Spanish, take a crack at recording each noun -- first in English, followed by the Spanish noun -- in your own voice. You can use a computer or your phone (or any other convenient device), as long as you're able to play back the recordings on a device that you can have on hand during convenient times to listen to them and absorb them.
Regardless of whether you choose to try out some or all of the learning strategies mentioned above, the most important tip for pursuing learning a foreign language is practice. Developing a dedication to practicing Spanish for even as little as ten minutes a day will prove to be the difference in how quickly your skills will improve. Knowing this may be the best demonstration of why you'll be well-served to keep the learning process interesting and simple.
